After having played the game myself for a time I am starting to get the hang of the various tasks available to your character. Although I must admit to being completely baffled when I first began my time in Amahara. It is my hope that this guide will help both newcomers to the game and veterans alike. I apologise in advance for a late reply, I have a life to lead here you know! Glad we got that over with, hope the FAQ helps. Aoto Gang Jobs [--AOTO--] The Aoto gang offers some very risky jobs although the pay can be good, the results can be unpredictable.
The pickpocket task for example I find very difficult to get consistent results from. You also have to be quite inventive with your threatening in order to squeeze money from the people on the collect money missions. First take note of the type of person who you need to steal the item from and look up their location below.
Then head to the area and find your target, he will have a purple name tag. Remember that movement is what takes time pass, so try and keep your movement to a minimum. Make the target do the work! So how do you do this? Simply by talking to him most of the time you can convince them to walk the other way, so if they are heading away from you have a chat.
As for actually getting the item, the best method I have found is to get as close to the target as possible and then speak to them. They will turn and face you, now it is simply a case of pressing the analogue stick in the direction of the target. Rinse and repeat until you get your item, if he turns on you then kill him and return to the area. Strangely a clone will have taken his place!?!
Finally don't forget to conduct your 'business' well out of the way of the other magistrates. If you are told to steal from a Magistrate, they can be found in the following locations: - Shikano-cho - Otemon Gate If you are told to steal from a Man, they can be found in: - Otsuka-cho - Kakinuma-cho If Foreigners are your target head to: - Numata-cho - Amahara Shrine b Collect money - Amount collected minus mon Success in this job depends on several things because there are many ways to complete the job.
If you want to just complete the job and are not worried about pay then go for the compassionate options and receive mon. However if it is pay you are after then go for mon. If you don't mind being hated by the group the target belongs to, then go for mon. You must also vary your selections depending on how notorious you are with the group in question already. The selections that you must make are given below: i Mohei Liked:??? Unknown: Hated:??? They will be easy to spot as they will be the only civilian wearing a weapon in the area.
Their name tag will also appear purple in colour when you get close. Talk to them and announce that you are going to take the item before you draw your sword.
Then either kill them, or reduce their health to a critical level where they will drop the item. Either throw them out of the way retrieve the item and flee or finish them and collect the spoils. Let your concience decide. Talk to them and tell them you are going to take the item, then dish out a Aoto style beating until their health gets low and they will drop the Moneybox.
Now you can either pick up the item and high tail it or finish them off. Once you are done head back to the Aoto Gang Headquarters to receive your pay. The merchant carries the following swords on hard mode: - Akabane - Chugen - Rengoku f Assassinate magistrate - mon "I've been asked to kill a magistrate in Kakinuma-cho" You have to assassinate a rather stubborn magistrate who has some skill at fighting, but shouldn't be much to worry about.
Just head to the location in question and speak to the target first before you kill him for a better samurai ranking. Watch out when he gets low on health as he will try to run for his life, finish him and then return to the Headquarters for your pay. Swords carried by the magistrate on hard mode: - Tobikuchi-jitte - HARUYUKI Note that these types of jobs only seem to come up during the late night and early morning time periods g Assassinate thug - mon "I've been asked to kill a thug at the Edge of Town by the Aoto Gang.
Shouldn't be much to worry about. Watch out when he gets low on health as he will try to run for his life, finish him before he gets the chance and then return to the Aoto Gang Headquarters for your pay.
Swords carried by the gangster on hard mode: - Oni-suzume - Hyakumangoku - Aun Note that these types of jobs only seem to come up during the late night and early morning time periods h Assassinate samurai - mon "I've been asked to kill a samurai at Amahara Shrine by the Aoto Gang" You have to assassinate a wild samurai who has some skill at fighting, but shouldn't be much to worry about.
Just head to Shikano-cho and dish out some justice to the homicidal maniac. Speak to the target first before you kill him for a better samurai ranking. Swords carried by the samurai on hard mode: - Shinmei-engetsu - Kannagi Note that these types of jobs only seem to come up during the late night and early morning time periods i Kill the broker - mon "I've been asked to kill the job broker at the Magistrate's Office! You are asked to kill the Magistrate broker which is no simple task.
If you are not that confident in your ability or have a crappy weapon, I highly recommend purchasing a Devil Mushroom to even the odds. The broker will have an immense amount of life, and on normal mode upwards, a great weapon too. The good news is that once you kill your target, you get to keep that weapon :D So after you have made the appropriate preparations, head to the Aoto gang headquarters and have a chat with the broker.
During the fight if he is using the Kanesada then always be on guard for his large combo attack. This is your worst enemy in this fight as it breaks your guard on the penultimate hit and then does huge damage. You can prevent this by parrying one of the previous hits, the first is a vertical and the second a horizontal.
Watch out for his nasty defence breakers too and the heat build up on your own sword. My final piece of advice is to keep calm and take your time. This is not a quick fight, you will have to wear him down slowly. The combat system from Way of the Samurai are carried over, albeit with some changes.
Many swords have been added from the previous game. Some special swords from the previous Way of The Samurai are available. Way of The Samurai 2 adds two more stances, "Fencing" stance in which the swordsman keep the sword sheathed until it is required to attack, and "Two Hands" stance, in which the player is able to hold two swords at once. Dojima from the previous game also makes an appearance, though unrelated to the main plot.
Here he still serves as a blacksmith to enhance the player's swords. The stats, however, are simplified:. Also, the "Appraise" feature is able to make the swords upgraded more powerful.
Their effects include addition to attack, defense, durability, tension resistance, or a combination of the above. These, however, requires certain conditions to be met, such as number of kills.
Some special swords are able to be appraised based on their name. The first is the magistrates. Headed by Chief Kuroha, the alert and vigilant magistrates arrest anyone they think breaks the law.
